The BEATLES research group (Behavioral Assessment and Treatment: Environmental and Laboratory Studies) studies human behavior from a contextual perspective, viewing psychological phenomena as processes situated at the intersection of the individual, society, and community. We focus on two main research areas: psychotic disorders and third-wave interventions, and gender psychology, with an emphasis on how structural inequalities affect mental health.
These lines converge in our interest in complex phenomena—such as intervention effectiveness or access to resources—where gender and social context are key. Our conception of psychological phenomena compels us to work across disciplinary boundaries. We are committed to methodological innovation, using both quantitative and qualitative approaches to address the complexity of psychological processes in context.
We view research as a socially engaged activity, aimed at transferring knowledge to healthcare services, community settings, and the third sector.
